Join the Heritage Family
At Heritage School we educate girls and boys from ages 4 to 16. Reception class and Year 7 are our main entry points, but we also admit pupils into other year groups, if there are spaces. After GCSEs our pupils continue to A Level studies at the excellent Sixth Form Colleges in and around Cambridge.
Heritage is the perfect environment for children who are able to access mainstream classroom teaching effectively. Academically, prospective pupils need to be able to achieve average to above average scores in standardised assessments in Maths and English. Our class sizes of up to 16 pupils offer high levels of support and children with a specific learning need, like dyslexia, who need only a small amount of one-to-one or small group work, can thrive here.
We are committed to making the unique education we offer available to as many children as possible. To achieve this, we have a sharp focus on affordability and making Heritage a realistic option for middle income families, this extends to a forward-looking schedule of what Heritage fees will be in coming years. Our bursary scheme also broadens our accessibility.
Come And See Us
If you like what you have heard and seen about Heritage, we encourage you to come and see us in person.
Visiting our school is the important first step for every family considering Heritage School. Our Spring and Autumn Open Mornings are the perfect opportunity to experience what we offer and get a good feel of the school. Our Open Mornings give you the opportunity to walk around the school, see our curriculum resources, talk in depth with class and subject specialist teachers and hear directly from our Head Boy, Head Girl and Headmaster.
Following Open Morning we recommend that families arrange a personal visit to see the school at work on a normal day, this visit includes an informal meeting with the Headmaster, the perfect opportunity to ask any further questions you might have. Families who have not been able to attend an Open Morning can also book one of these individual visits. If Heritage is a good fit for your child/ren we then begin the admissions process.
What Our Visitors Say
Apply For A Place
If you think Heritage could be the right school for your child the next step is to apply for a place. Completing a registration form, accompanied by a registration fee, starts the process.
Children applying for a place from Reception to Year 6 will be invited into school for a taster session including an assessment appropriate for their age. Pupils applying for a place from Year 7 onwards will sit entrance papers. Read on for more detailed information.
Bursaries
Making A Heritage Education More Accessible
Bursaries are awarded to help make a Heritage education accessible to families who demonstrate a genuine need for financial assistance. These means-tested awards are intended to support children who would benefit from the unique learning environment at Heritage but may otherwise be unable to attend due to financial constraints.
Fees
An Innovative Forward-Looking Plan For Fees
Since it was established in 2007, careful financial management has ensured that the work of Heritage School rests on a secure financial footing. This enabled the purchase of Panton Hall in 2018 and the Brookside site in 2020.
The school was in the fortunate position of having healthy cash reserves and pupil numbers at their highest since 2017 when the government introduced VAT on school fees and increased business rates for independent schools in 2025.
